Like Howard, Sheldon, and Leonard, Nayyar’s character appeared in every episode of the series.

When Howard goes to space, Raj seeks companionship from Stewart, who is just as lonely. He also moves in with Mrs. Wolowitz and takes care of her when Howard moves out. After she passes away, Stewart takes care of Howard and Bernadette’s children, and he became a series regular.
