From bringing a friend along for a ride to stocking up on supplies for their riders, some Uber drivers like to leave a lasting memory. Here are a few samples of times where Uber drivers surprised their clients!
Service Pet?
Uber does have a service where you share a ride with other riders. And sometimes that can be quite fun as you get to meet someone new. But sometimes, the rider may not even be human… After all, who doesn’t want to pet a puppy for a few minutes?
Unique Décor
There are many ways that Uber drivers try to get those five-star ratings. Some drivers try to do it with their personality and by offering little extras like water and such. But other drivers surprised their riders by decorating their cars.
This is especially great around holidays, and so when this rider got into the car, and their driver had decked it out for Halloween, they were especially happy. Wouldn’t you be as well?
Wrong-Way
Driving for Uber is a good way to make a little money, whether it be a side hustle or your main gig. So sometimes, when a person gets to a new city, it seems like it might be a great option for them. Considering that they’re a good driver and know the area well.
Otherwise, their riders might be surprised like this rider was when her Uber driver tried to drive down railroad tracks. That would definitely affect the driver’s rating.
A Day in the Life
The last thing you want to do when you are in an Uber is leave something behind, especially if that’s something in your purse or briefcase. If this happens to you, all you can do is hope and pray that you can get your property back.
This woman was surprised when she did get her purse back as the camera roll was filled with pictures of her purse and its adventure that day.

Have you ever climbed into an Uber and felt that the driver was simply ignoring you? For some, this is heaven, and for others, this could be pretty annoying. As a precautionary measure so that there were no surprises with his fares, this driver left a note.
Seeing that this driver was deaf, he just wanted his passengers to know that they could feel free to blast their music or have any type of conversation they could possibly want as he would not be able to hear it. How’s that for privacy?!
Where Are We?
You would hope that when you hop in the back or front of an Uber that your driver is well-formed and knows the area. Or, at the very least, you would hope that they had a good GPS that works efficiently.
While we may hope and pray, it isn’t always a guarantee, and such was the case for this rider. Having our driver stop the car on the highway during rush hour would give us mega anxiety and leave us very irritable.

Sometimes, when you’re traveling, you forget certain essentials, so this Uber driver chose to be a star and provided those things to her clients. What a great surprise it must be to get into this car and see this!
Whether you need to refresh your breath, fix your teeth, or blow your nose, you’re totally sorted in this case. All you are required to do in return is leave a good rating and maybe even a tip?!
Took a Wrong Turn
Getting lost happens to the best of us. However, when you have GPS in your phone as an Uber driver, you shouldn’t have this problem. But apparently, there are some drivers out there that seem to deal with this regularly.
Though we’re not sure that this was a mistake or simply a calculated maneuver on the driver’s part in order to get a longer ride out of their client. What are your thoughts on this one?
Like-Minded
It is always nice when you get into your Uber, and you end up having a good quality conversation with the driver. Oftentimes it is about finding common interests or enjoying one another’s sense of humor.

Too Close for Comfort
One of the most frustrating things as a driver is when you witness the other drivers on the road who don’t follow the rules. A good example of this is when people tailgate on crowded streets.
This Uber driver has a way of dealing with this issue so that there are no surprises. She lets all of her riders know that she likes to check her brakes consistently. So true to her word, she did just that!

The last thing you expect when you call for an Uber is that you will end up with a serious injury. But sometimes accidents happen like the case here. This must have been a big surprise to both the driver and the rider!
We just hope that the rider was okay after this and was able to walk again in no time. This kind of injury is no joke but good on this dude for having a sense of humor about it.

If you’ve scoured online, then you’ve probably seen stories of Uber drivers with dogs or with cats. But with a bird? Not as much. So, how strange and surprising it must be to get into an Uber and find out that their pet of choice was a little teeny bird.
Not only was the bird a cutie and made for a funny Snapchat but the x-factor here was that the little guy happened to resemble the actor Jack Nicholson… We have little doubt that this picture went viral.
Working the Late Shift
Some Uber drivers use this job as a means to get extra cash in their wallets. Unfortunately, that often means that they work more than one job and could lead to them being a little tired as they’re driving you around town.
But with that being said, you still would never expect them to fall asleep at the wheel. When this rider got into their Uber, they were unaware that they were going to be surprised with one of the most adventurous rides of their life. Scary stuff!
Plenty of Room
Typically when you call an Uber, you end up getting a compact or newer model car coming to receive you. But it looks like riders in Manhattan are in for a surprise if they happen to get this unique car and driver combo.
Though this may be a smart idea as this means he will be able to pick up more fares when it comes to shared rides and therefore make a little extra cash.
Double Dipping
Many people who opt to be a rideshare driver will do both Uber and Lyft to get more customers and, therefore, more money. Most, though, will choose to drive one or the other when it comes to their fares.
Not only did this rider get the surprise of their life in her Uber when she was a passenger alongside a Lyft passenger, but she also had to listen to the driver talk about contributing to the delinquency of minors.
What’s That Smell?
There are many people that enjoy working for themselves, and though as an Uber driver, you work for a company, you work on your own schedule. This means that you can also have other gigs that you can use to make extra cash.
For this driver, it was selling essential oils. And this was even made easier as she was in constant contact with tons of people. However, we do think she was a little too aggressive when it came to her sales pitch!
In the Spirit
For many people, Halloween is one of the best holidays and often their favorite. These people often go all out in decorating their homes. And when they are Uber drivers, sometimes that translates to their car.
Some of these drivers even go so far as to dress up. And that can be quite surprising to the rider who has booked them for their ride. For us, though, we would find it pretty cool!

When you drive for a living, you try as hard as you can to not end up with any type of ticket. But, unfortunately, in some places, Uber drivers that sit in taxi zones can, in fact, be ticketed. But some Uber drivers have figured out how to work the system.
Well, when this person came out of the building and was greeted with a hug, and an “I love you”, they were a little surprised. The Uber driver eventually explained it, and the rider thought it was pretty funny.
Two Drivers
Once you have called for an Uber, you are most likely expecting to get one driver. There is a rule that talks about not having more than one driver in a car, but just like everything else, there is always a loophole.
This mother-daughter must have found it because when the rider hopped in, they were surprised to find two women in the car’s front seats.
Excuse Me?!
The last thing you or your driver wants to be is stuck in traffic. Sometimes though, it happens, and most Uber drivers sit in patience. That is except for this Uber driver who was dead set on getting his fare to their final destination.
Instead of waiting his turn, he opted to jump the curb and drive down the sidewalk. To make matters even worse, he dubbed that sidewalk the ‘Uber lane’. Quite the disrupter!
A Little Cynical
We all have bad days, and that goes for Uber drivers as well. So sometimes, when you try to strike up a conversation, you get a little bit cynical or even exhibit a bit of a bad attitude. This could be frustrating to witness, or it could make for a funny story.
That is what happened to this person when they hopped in the car and tried to have a little bit of small talk with their driver. But, unfortunately, the driver seemed to be having a bad day.
No English
You don’t have to speak English to learn how to drive, but when you’re an Uber driver, it does make things a little easier. Most people who use Uber tend to expect their driver to be who they ordered and be able to speak a little English.
It seems like this rider was in for a big surprise when not only were there two drivers but also neither of them spoke English. This may have made for a long ride.
Riding in Style
Uber is available in many foreign countries as well as in the US. But sometimes the Uber rides in other countries are very different from what you would get in the states. Take, for instance, this Uber that someone got picked up by in Dubai.
Imagine getting picked up for your ride to the airport in this bad boy… What a great way to end a trip and to ensure that you come visit again. Now that’s a great strategy for tourists!
